To add to your wonderful article try Kelari in Peto Petali for fantastic Greek cooking and also O φελος, in Ano Petali . Recently opened and really creative food. And easier to get a booking there than for your new restaurant Rosina ( we have tried!).
Also don’t forget the amazing pottery in Sifnos. There are still 16 potteries left in the island my favourite being Lembesis in Artmenonas .
Lovely read, Adam. It brought Sifnos straight back. Cantina was one of the highlights of our time there too, made even more memorable by unexpectedly meeting you both that evening.
I think there is something genuinely magical about Sifnos, that is hard to describe. It has stayed with me ever since and, after a long gap between visits to Greece, gave me the bug to return again very soon.
The food was a huge part of it, as you describe. We also ate at Chrysopigi and the chickpea soup was incredible. It reminded me of a French onion soup, with the same deep, comforting richness.
Great to read that you fell for the island as much as we did and the food delivered!
